what kind of flat iron do you have, i used to have the same problem, then i got a flat iron call remington wet 2 straight, now it only takes about half and hour, but it works better when your hair is dry even though it says you can use it wet, plus do not bother with shampoo or styling products that say they can help straighten it, they never work

same here...either get layers in your hair....or use a shampoo/conditioner that makes slin/thin hair...?

You should

-condition your hair

-get it chemically straightened, it is a lot faster

- Buy straightening gel

The foundation to every style is the blowout (use a round brush and a concentrator on the end of your hairdryer, let the air flow in the direction of the hair growth). Try to mimic the way your hairdresser dries your hair as close as you can and take your time with it because it will make styling your hair so much easier and you wont need as much heat and/or products, and the style will last longer.

You could have it professionally straightened... it's basically a perm "straight" instead of curly. So, yest this means chemicals, but straightening your hair daily is pretty bad for it anyhow, so you could definitely cut the time problem out at least! If you do not want to do that then you should look for a straightening spray or gel at sally's beauty supply or somewhere like that. Not only does it protect your hair because it is designed to burn the substance off basically while straightening your hair instead of burning the hair straight, but it is much quicker!

Also, I use the best flat iron from sally's beauty supply, it is ceramic and better for your hair and it straightens my hair atleast 5 times faster than revlon or the wet to dry I had previously bought at the local wal-mart! It cost me $45 dollars, but it was worth it for me. I went in and asked which straightening iron was best and the girl showed me two different ones that were about 10 dollars different in ice and she suggested the most expensive, she said it was better and for once I decided to splurge because my hair is to my butt and very thick, so faster for me is well worth 10 dollars!
