Long hair and getting jobs?

Hi. I'm a Junior (11th grade) in High School. Recently, I have been interested in getting a part time job. Will my long hair (I'm a male) get in the way of this? I take good care of my hair; it's not like I have a Chris Barnes look going on. Should I put my hair in a pony tail or something? I really don't want to have to cut it.

Thank you, sirs.

it depends on what jobs..if it's more of an uptight formal job, then I'd suggest pulling it in a pony tail

but if it's a more casual job, like Starbucks, or something like that, then I'd just make it look okay and it shouldn't hinder your chance of getting a job

how long is it?

Actually I don't think it will hinder you, at least not entirely. You may want it in a ponytail to be out of your way, but it's probably not absolutely necessary. i'm also a junior (though female) and I work at a hardware store, and i can think of quite a few guys who have their hair long there.

I guess But I lots a people hate long hair, so I suggest not working in a restraunt. Not trying to be mean, I'm serious.

I think that it depends on the kind of job you would like to get. Some jobs would care, other jobs might not. If you don't want to cut it, you shouldn't have too. Do what you want.

My son had long hair when he was younger and they hired him at a grocery store as a cashier and he kept his hair back in a pony tail. (I don't mind how long someone's hair is so long as it's clean and they do a good job at what ever they are paid to do.) Now, he's out of college and has cut his hair short so he could get a job some place other than a grocery store. He now works in a department store until he can get a gig as a guitarist somewhere. (Who knew a degree in music would lead him to a department store.?)

dude i use to have a HUGE fro with matts in it. If i can get a job anyone can

i think that no matter where you work, you should have it pulled back into a low ponytail, even at a starbucks. girls are required to pull their hair back at any restaurant so they don't get their hair in the food, so i would think the same would apply to guys too.

as long as you wash it every day and keep it somewhat brushed, i think jobs will hire you no matter. you shouldn't have to cut your hair off unless you're getting paid a buttload.

I would say pony tail. I am a guy and i did have long hair. Make sure it is combed nice and not greasy or nappy. As long as your hair is in good condition I don't see a problem with trying to get a job and long hair.
