I have really long hair. It's two feet from the root to the tip and dark brown. I have side-swept bangs which are now growing out. I know I need a cut but I don't have the time! I have a job interview on Wednesday and need some ideas. The place I'm interviewing at is rather conservative, a traditional office enviroment at a hotel. I have my outfit already, pinstriped pants, a black cardigan and blouse with black flats. I just don't know what to do with this pile of hair on my head! Is it acceptable to wear it down? Any help and suggestions are very appreciated!

if I were you, I would do an up-and-down held in place with a nice clip. If you don't know how to do this (I bet you do, but just in case):

~Put thumbs behind ears and gather all hair by moving thumbs straight back

~Brush hair NOT gathered (under that section) and the upper section that you gathered seperatly

~Hold upper section in place with hair elastic

~Put decorative clip over hair elastic

DONE!

OR put hair in relaxed (but still tightish) bun at crown of head or at base of neck

OR just curl it and leave it down

Like others on here, I would suggest a pony tail. Leave the bangs as they are as long as you don't have to keep brushing your hair out of your eyes, you should be fine. the pony tail will allow you to keep your hair long but it will present a professional appearance.

Don't cut your hair, no one is ever happy with what God gave them but a nice change evey now %26amp; then would be good too! go to a salon %26amp; buy a ceramic straightner, make sure you cut off all those split ends! My niece has thick red curly (Frizzy) hair she straightens it all the time. If you buy one from a salon it heats up faster and ask about the best products to protect from damage and your specific hair type.. Oh also she try's to stay away from moisture %26amp; some conditioners because they add to much moisture causing more curls. Once her hair has been straightened for the day it's easier to brush and less knots! Good Luck!

Also, consider visiting a high end hairdresser to straighten it out via iron or relaxer...

i have the exact same kind of hair as you...i don't know what race you are, but i am caucasian, and my hair looks like bi-racial hair. my hairdresser has a bi-racial daughter, and she suggested that i use some products from sally's (or any other beauty salon product store) that are really for african-american hair. it won't make your hair greasy either. for the little fuzzy baby hairs on the top of your hair (like near your part if you have one), you can use something with shea butter in it, it will soften your hair and moisturize your scalp. there is also a lock and twist gel to help make your curls smoother. if your scalp is itchy (from having super-thick hair), you can try something with tea tree oil in it. DON'T CUT IT ALL OFF! i did once, and it looked awful. if anything, just keep it trimmed up well to get rid of the split-ends, which for me, causes a lot of of the knots. good luck!

I know that in general, men prefer long hair, but I was just curious as to how much it actually matters. I am 16 now, and I want to date around for a couple years, but when I start attending community college, I plan on focusing on finding a man to marry. (I am not having sex before I find the right person, and I've already done plenty of partying, so please don't say, "You're young. Don't worry about those things." )

probably...sometimes when you make a major change, it takes a while to get used to it.....remember, it's only hair...it grows back...i wouldn't be too concerned with it...it you were sexy beforehand, then chances are that you still are sexy....if you were ugly beforehand, cutting your hair isn't going to change that either....so just give it some time..i'm sure it will all work out just fine in the end.

give it time,i'm sure it will grow on u and u will like it more each day. bobs are cool..is it a plain bob or is it graduated for height and volume(coz that's cool and gives it more of an dge). i did exactly the same thing,only went even shorter than a bob!Im sure it looks nice,BUT i totally understand how you feel,i hated my new hair,i felt butch and un sexy and ended up putting scarves and stuff in it to girlyfy it.Poor you,i totally sympthise with you.You can buy human hair extentios and glue or clip them in very easyly yourself.I ended up doing that as soon as it grew past my ears so i could hide the join.I live in uk and you can buy them off ebay or at most markets,they look amazing and are sooo cheap.If you get real hair ones,you can even dye them to match your hair colour,i honestly use them all the time now. i recommend using them on a clip so you wont ruin them by washing them everytime you wash your own hair,try it im sure it will make you feel better x x

If you are worried, get some layers cut into it to add movement. You can then texturize it to make it a little piecey.

If you tied it up all the time, you will have to get used to it being down all the time, getting used to a new hairstyle always takes a while, I'd just play around with it, try creating a fringe and make a quiff at the front that's still chic at the moment, in fact try to find some photos of Kylie Minogue, she has a bob and her hair looks great all the time, with grips and slides etc.
